Between the seasons of planting seeds and harvesting their gifts, we celebrate the endless possibilities of summer.

We begin with our cover, capturing a shot almost as elusive as trapping lightning in a bottle.

Fireflies in the Midwest in summertime—they’re our visual harbingers of a healthy ecosystem—revealing through their syncopated light displays that we're doing a good job of keeping Mother Nature's beautiful work in balance. Our landscape, highlighted by those stunning insects, reminds us to pause and take notice of what symbiosis looks like. Their absence is a signal to us too: If we want to improve our environment, we must first explore what’s missing to make it whole.

No fireflies in your neck of the woods?

That's earth calling in sick.

In this edition of The North Bloom Magazine—Bloom, as we know her—we explore the topics of dysbiosis and symbiosis through the lens of a healthy system, starting at the microbiome level in humans—the surprisingly most abundant part of us.
From brain to gut to whatever place your health feels stuck, this is us, educating you on how you can trigger your innate capacity to heal. Here we guide you through the gentle steps of achieving better health by incorporating more plants in your diet, connecting with others, and contributing to your community in purposeful ways.

It is a transformation made tangible.

It is terrain made traversable.

By highlighting awe and wonder as tools for health.

By looking to nature to illuminate possible paths to get there.

By capturing curiosity and incorporating the element of play in the process of finding it.

Bloom grows and flourishes through the voices of our team of subject matter experts who contribute to our cannabis and wellness conversations—pioneers reshaping how we define better days through better ways in 2025. Most importantly, they show us fun and straightforward paths to get there with new aids (and even lemonades) in hand.

Within this issue, we share ideas and insights on new consumer packaged goods infused with plant-derived extracts (like those tiny, active cannabinoid molecules in non-alcoholic, hemp and THC-derived beverages widely available in Minnesota), and once consumed, how they interact with our bodies, lighting us up on the inside like fireflies brightening a dark trail in a dense summer forest.

We invite you to use Bloom as both your telescope and microscope in discovering new ways to reach your improved landscape.

Reach out via the QR code (or snap a selfie of you with your copy of Bloom out in the world, tagging us on socials @thenorthbloom) and shine a light back our way, sharing how you're Blooming this summer.

We can’t wait to hear all about your journey.
Cheers to your health,
